Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides specialized perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, ensuring safety, effective communication, and compliance with standards. Acts as a patient advocate throughout the surgical experience, delivering compassionate, patient-centered care in the operating room and related areas.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients comprehensive health status through head-to-toe evaluations prior to surgery.
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans aligned with surgical standards.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and ancillary staff to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain sterile techniques and ensure adherence to infection control policies during procedures.
• Reassess patient pain levels and administer appropriate pain management interventions.
• Educate patients and families on perioperative processes and post-surgical care requirements.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of a Registered Nurse Program with a valid Oklahoma Registered Nurse license.
• Demonstrate strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Possess proficiency in sterile technique and infection control practices.
• Exhibit excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Preferably hold a BSN degree.
• Comply with ongoing departmental training and age-specific care protocols.
