Title: Extrusion Technician

Summary:
An Extrusion Technician is responsible for performing and maintaining the daily activities associated with a production line. This includes housekeeping, safety, quality, maintaining production efficiencies, repair and maintenance and minimizing downtime.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
* Practice proper PPE compliance and maintain a safe working record and environment
* Completion of shift production and reporting paperwork
* Immediately communicate unsafe conditions, acts or injuries to Production Supervisor
* Meet quality specifications for all products produced
* Preform Preventive Maintenance on all equipment as needed
* Troubleshoot process and mechanical problems and perform repairs and adjustments to meet production needs as required
* Practice proper forklift operation and preventive maintenance
* Maintain ability to operate various production lines and processes effectively
* Maintain facility housekeeping
* Adhere to PLP product sampling schedule
* Maintain and build job skills through company training programs
* Meet or exceed standard production efficiencies on all production lines
* Adhere to ISO 9001 Quality, certification requirements
* Perform tooling changeovers in an efficient manner
* Requires regular attendance per the schedule assigned by supervisor
* Other duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skill Requirements:
This position should possess the following skills/knowledge:
* High school diploma or equivalent, desired
* Mechanical troubleshooting and repair abilities
* Ability to operate heavy machinery
* Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
* Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within manufacturing environment
* Self-motivated and dependable
* Punctual with good attendance
* Previous manufacturing machine operation or extrusion experience
Physical Requirements:
* Ability to repeatedly lift 75 pounds to a height of 6 feet
* Must be able to perform repetitive motion, such as walking, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, griping, and standing
* Ability to stand and be mobile for a minimum of 12 continuous hours
* Ability to work in temperature extremes
* Clarity of vision and the ability to focus on a fast repetitious operation
