What is the Opportunity? The Associate Sales Manager is an entry-level sales development position designed to prepare high-potential individuals for a future Sales Manager role. Through a structured 6-12 month training program, the Associate will work closely with experienced sales professionals, engineers, and internal teams to develop technical, commercial, and industry knowledge required to successfully sell industrial wastewater treatment solutions.The Associate Sales Manager will support customer development activities, learn Ovivo/Alar's products and technologies, participate in customer meetings, assist with proposal development, and gain experience managing opportunities throughout the sales process. This role is based in our office in Mokena, IL and will enjoy a hybrid working schedule.Domestic travel will be required (10-40%).What is the role?Sales SupportAccompany Regional Sales Managers on customer visits, plant tours, and technical presentationsParticipate in customer discovery meetings and site evaluationsAssist with opportunity development and follow-up activitiesSupport strategic account planning initiativesBusiness DevelopmentResearch prospective customers and market segmentsAssist in identifying and qualifying new sales opportunitiesSupport trade show activities and industry eventsHelp maintain target account and prospect databasesProposal DevelopmentWork closely with Applications Engineering and Proposal Engineering teamsAssist with budgetary proposals and quotation developmentLearn system sizing, solution development, and proposal preparation processesCustomer Relationship DevelopmentBuild relationships with plant personnel, engineering groups, and operations teamsParticipate in customer meetings and follow-up discussionsDevelop skills in consultative selling and needs assessmentCRM & Sales ProcessMaintain customer and opportunity information within CRMTrack leads and opportunities through the sales processSupport forecasting and pipeline reviewsOther duties as assignedDoes this sound like you?Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related fieldIs highly motivated, has a strong curiosity and coachableEnjoys building relationships and solving customer problemsMechanical and technical aptitudeIs comfortable learning complex industrial processesPossesses strong presentation and communication skillsDemonstrates initiative and a willingness to prospect for new businessIs interested in a long-term career in industrial capital equipment salesStrong communication and interpersonal skillsExperience working with industrial customers and CRM's (preferred)Don't meet every single requirement?
