The Boeing Company invites students and recent graduates of certified BPET programs to join our Fabrication team as Assembler / Sub Assembly Fastener in Auburn, Washington. Responsibilities Perform rework, repairs, pickups, functional checks, and authorized changes while maintaining the required skill level for all tasks. Select appropriate parts, materials, tools, and assemblies, determining the sequence of work as necessary. Report job‑related issues—such as errors in parts, materials, or assembly procedures—in accordance with shop procedures outlined by the supervisor. Utilize precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy in work assignments. Execute fabrication tasks, including reaming, drilling, riveting, sanding, filing, grinding, shaping of sheet metal parts, forming, countersinking, crimping, and other necessary operations. Prepare and mix adhesives, cements, and foams for bonding, sealing, and riveting detail parts and components. Load, unload, and operate ovens for sealing or bonding detail parts to assemblies. Apply protective materials to assemblies to ensure durability and compliance with specifications. Assemble, locate, and install mechanical accessories such as latches, locks, pulleys, and levers. Work with various materials—including plastics, extrusions, castings, and forgings—during assembly operations. Route, clamp, and secure electrical installation components as required for work assignments. Coordinate, prepare, and manage the movement of materials within the assigned area to ensure efficient workflow. Assemble, join, mechanically fasten, or rework parts and assemblies to create subassemblies that meet quality requirements, following established processes and procedures. Identify and locate points, parts, and assemblies using established reference lines or index points, deriving measurements from drawings, prints, and other documentation. Physical Demands and Potential Hazards Lift weights ranging from 10–15 lbs to 15–35 lbs. Engage in movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting. Work in environments that may involve contact with metals, solvents, and coolants. Operate in proximity to moving parts and tools, sharp cutters, and potential slipping hazards. Adapt to varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions. Utilize personal safety gear to protect face/eyes, hands/arms, and feet while performing job duties. Basic Qualifications Completion of a certified Boeing Pre‑Employment Training (BPET) course (academic or military). Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 35 lbs frequently within an 8‑hour shift. Ability to walk constantly, stand 6–8 hours/day, climb or work from stairs/steps up to 8 hours/day, climb ladders, bend and twist frequently up to six hours/day, squat, and kneel. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English. Successful completion of the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process. High school graduate or GED preferred. Ex‑port Control compliance: must be a “USPerson” (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee). Union Representation This hourly position is governed by the International Association of Machinists (IAM‑751) Collective Bargaining Agreement. Compensation & Benefits Pay: $24.32/hour, with potential to earn up to $53.30/hour in accordance with the relevant collective bargaining agreement.
