Job Title: Collection Recovery Specialist Location: Johnston, RI Pay Rate: $22/hr (W2) Job Type: Contract (6 months with potential for extension) Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM | Friday, 8:00 AM-4:45 PM Hours per Week: 40

Manager's Notes:

• Focused on collections recovery via phone.
• Agents work with customers to collect on outstanding debt.
• Goal is to secure full payment, but also explore settlement options, third-party agencies, and autopay if needed.
• Call center experience is required.
• Collections experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Inbound calls only.
• Average of 30 calls per day.
• Fully onsite position.
• Location: Johnston, In-person interviews.
• 2 weeks of classroom training.
• Includes systems overview and navigation.
• Total training may extend up to 1 month as needed.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle a high volume of inbound and outbound calls, delivering quality solutions to customers.
• Assist customers experiencing financial hardship by offering tailored payment and recovery options.
• Use negotiation and problem-resolution techniques to collect payments on delinquent accounts.
• Follow policies and compliance guidelines including Fair Debt Collection Practices and data security laws.
• Accurately document customer interactions in the system of record.
• Consistently meet departmental goals for quality, call metrics, and operational performance.
• Remain adaptable to changes in business needs and contribute to a supportive team culture.

Qualifications:

• Required: High School Diploma
• Preferred: Associate Degree
• 1+ year of customer service or collections experience preferred.
• Strong communication, persuasion, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent typing and data entry accuracy.
• Ability to navigate digital phone systems and work in a metrics-driven environment.
• Strong math and organizational skills.
• Sound judgment and decision-making ability.

Job Type: Contract
