Shift Manager

Job Location: Fort Worth, TX 76123 Position Summary A Shift Manager functions as the person in charge of the store in the absence of, or as directed by the General Manager, Assistant Manager, or Store Manager for the duration of their assigned shift. The Shift Manager is responsible for executing store operations, supervising Team Members, delegating tasks, and ensuring preparation and presentation of Auntie Anne’s, Cinnabon, Jamba Juice, or Carvel products. The role maintains store premises and equipment in accordance with Fresh Dining Concepts, LLC policy and franchise standards, while delivering outstanding guest experiences. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform all Team Member responsibilities: preparing dough and products such as lemonade, butter, dips, Cinnabons, and yogurt; rolling, twisting, dipping, shaping, baking, and bagging pretzels, Cinnabons, and yogurt. Prepare specialty pretzels or other brand products for Cinnabon and Auntie Anne’s. Insert, rotate, and remove pretzel/Cinnabon trays; monitor ovens for correct baking time and color. Oversee exceptional customer in‑store experience by embodying the brand core values (F.I.B.E.R. and B.O.O.S.T.) at all times. Execute quality store operations, including using Celan blenders, small wares, merchandise, and store facilities as necessary. Operate food preparation machinery and ensure compliance with age requirements. Maintain stocking of all supplies per inventory guidelines. Adhere to all Jamba food, safety, and security guidelines while respecting Jamba property. Master station operations of the store. Ensure health, safety, and sanitation compliance for all products. Support brand adherence and train Team Members. Dip, drain, and fill pretzels/cinnamon in the warmer/hot plate. Prepare drinks and bag orders with appropriate health and safety measures. Direct and coordinate Team Member activities, meal breaks, and breaks in compliance with state and federal law. Maintain a calm demeanor during high volume or unusual events to keep operations up to standards. In case of call‑offs or no‑shows, contact the Store Manager or Assistant Manager and recommend a solution to secure a replacement for the shift. Monitor product quality, trace adherence to operating procedures, and handle complaints as required. Ensure guest service and a positive guest experience. Address, respond to, and resolve guests’ needs, questions, and complaints as required. Perform all opening and closing procedures, including daily, periodic, and maintenance cleaning procedures. Manage store funds during the shift, access bottom safe and shift drawers, issue and replace cash, including making change. Run register reports, complete Daily Cash Reports and hourly reading sheets; if closing, complete the Sales Log report. Follow all cash management and cash register policies ensuring proper cash management practices. Comply with all Auntie Anne’s/Cinnabon and Fresh Dining Concepts, LLC policies, procedures, and legal regulations (safety, environmental standards, OSHA, EPA, Right to Know, EEO, ADA, etc.). Qualifications Must be 18 years old or older. 6 months to 2 years of experience in retail management, food service industry, or equivalent retail experience. Current food handler certification or ability to obtain certification within the first 30 days as required by local law. Basic math and reading skills (addition, multiplication, subtraction). Ability to use and operate a calculator accurately. Attention to detail. Ability to develop skills in leadership, coaching others respectfully and professionally. Strong guest focus with excellent people skills; positive can‑do attitude and teachable spirit. Availability to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Preferred Qualifications Experience with computers, smartphones, iPads, retail handhelds, and POS systems. General knowledge and understanding of the food industry or retail operations preferred. Job Requirements/Physical Demands Essential job functions include prolonged standing, walking, squatting, bending, and repetitive hand/arm motions. Ability to lift 50+ pounds. Capability to work in a fast‑paced, highly stressed environment while handling POS systems, guests, and staff. Work with agility and occasional long hours within state and federal laws. Age Requirements Oven operation minimum age 16 years (16‑year‑olds cannot use freight elevator) for Cinnabon/Auntie Anne’s. Mixer operation minimum age 18 years for Cinnabon/Auntie Anne’s. License/Certifications Reliable transportation. Current ServSafe certification required; otherwise, must pass ServSafe within 30 days of employment. Food Handler Permit as required by local laws. Compliance with all local health department requirements.
