Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Cardiovascular Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: 2 years recent experience in Cardiac Cath Lab License: Current RN License issued by the appropriate State Board of Nursing Certifications: Current Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Must-Have: - Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program. - Knowledge of professional nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures. - Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services. - Good verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to respond to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors. - Some computer skills. Description: Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments. Notes all changes in physician orders for assigned patients. Assists physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients. Observes physiological manifestations of patients and intervenes when necessary. Administers medication as prescribed. Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently. Interacts with families and patients in sharing care plans while in the hospital and at discharge. Informs patients and their families of hospital procedures. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff. Performs other duties as assigned. Experience in stepdown/PCU is required. Travel experience at Level 1 is required. Knowledge of STEMI, Shock, VAD, ECMO, and Structural Heart practices in a lab setting is necessary. Familiarity with Phillips imaging and Xper hemosystem is preferred.
