Summary AS A COLLECTION SPECIALIST, you’ll be responsible for monitoring and collecting payment on overdue account balances after insurances as well as balances uninsured patients. You'll respond promptly for estates on deceased patients by working in conjunction with estate executors and/or attorneys. You'll work closely with financial counselors with patients applying for Medicaid and/or financial assistance. You will also monitor and maintain daily work queues at acceptable levels, balance the cash drawer daily, and complete other miscellaneous account support duties when necessary. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent GED required, some college level courses in business and/or finance is preferred. 1+ years collections experience, preferably in healthcare or financial setting. Strong attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficient computer skills, proficient in typing and 10-key pad, Microsoft Word Excel preferred. Well versed in collection rules and regulations and account receivable knowledge relative to third party payers preferred. Ability to work independently and maintain accuracy. Experience with Cerner and/or G.E. Centricity systems preferred. Experience with the Medicaid promise system and Navinet system preferred.
