Director of Sales Operations

About This Role The Director of Sales Operations leads the commercial engine that converts opportunities into accurate, competitive, and on\-time proposals across Meta Power Solutions' transformer, switchgear, and switchboard product lines. Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, this leader owns the Quoting, Estimating, and Sales Engineering functions and provides technical leadership that ensures every quote is buildable, priced to margin, and delivered within committed lead times. About This Role The Director of Sales Operations leads the commercial engine that converts opportunities into accurate, competitive, and on\-time proposals across Meta Power Solutions' transformer, switchgear, and switchboard product lines. Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, this leader owns the Quoting, Estimating, and Sales Engineering functions and provides technical leadership that ensures every quote is buildable, priced to margin, and delivered within committed lead times. Beyond the core equipment business, the Director partners with operations and service leadership to expand and standardize MPS's growing service offerings — transformer refurbishment, spare parts, and field service — helping shape scope, pricing, and go\-to\-market approach for these lines. The role is a hands\-on, on\-site leadership position that connects sales, engineering, estimating, and production into a single, repeatable quote\-to\-order process. Key Responsibilities Sales Operations Leadership Lead and develop the teams across Quoting, Estimating, Sales Engineering, and Technical Leadership, setting priorities, service levels, and standards of quality. Build and maintain the metrics that measure quote turnaround time, win rate, quote accuracy, estimating accuracy vs. actuals, and proposal volume, and report performance to the CRO. Own the endtoend process, standardizing the quotetoorder workflow so opportunities move cleanly from sales intake through estimating, engineering review, pricing, and proposal issuance. Drive discipline into the CRM and quoting systems, ensuring pipeline, pricing, and proposal data stay clean, current, and reportable. Quoting Department Provide oversight and leadership of the Quoting department, directing intake, prioritization, and ontime issuance of customer quotations for transformers, switchgear, and switchboards. Establish quoting standards, templates, and approval workflows that improve consistency, reduce errors, and shorten turnaround while protecting margin. Review and approve complex or highvalue quotes to ensure quoted specifications, lead times, and terms are accurate and commercially sound before release. Estimating Department Provide oversight and leadership of the Estimating department, responsible for accurate material, labor, and cost estimates that support competitive, marginprotecting pricing. Standardize and refine estimating methods, cost models, and rate structures as material costs and production capacity change. Partner with operations and finance, comparing estimates to actual build costs, and drive corrective actions to close accuracy gaps. Sales Engineering Lead the Sales Engineering function, supporting the sales team with technical scoping, application engineering, and customerfacing solution design. Translate customer requirements into accurate specifications and bills of material, so quoted configurations are technically correct, buildable, and aligned to customer specifications, codes, and standards. Serve as the escalation point for complex technical questions during the presales and quoting process. Technical Leadership Provide technical leadership across the sales operations organization, mentoring engineers and estimators and building bench strength. Act as the technical bridge between sales, engineering, estimating, and production to resolve design, cost, and feasibility questions early. Champion continuousimprovement initiatives that raise technical quality, reduce rework, and shorten the quotetoorder cycle. Service Offerings Collaboration Collaborate with operations and service leadership to develop and grow MPS's service lines — transformer refurbishment, parts, and field service. Help define scoping, pricing, estimating, and technical evaluation approaches for refurbishment, parts, and service opportunities. Support integration of service offerings into the standard quotetoorder process as these lines scale. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, a related engineering discipline, or equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience. 8\+ years of progressive experience in sales operations, estimating, sales engineering, or technical sales within electrical equipment, power distribution, or industrial manufacturing. 5\+ years of leadership experience directly managing quoting, estimating, and/or sales engineering teams. Demonstrated knowledge of transformers, switchgear, switchboards, or comparable electrical apparatus, including how they are specified, estimated, and manufactured. Proven track record of building repeatable quotetoorder processes and improving quote turnaround, accuracy, and margin. Proficiency with CRM and quoting/ERP systems and strong command of pricing, cost modeling, and proposal development. Ability to work onsite fulltime at the Palm Beach Gardens, FL facility. Preferred Qualifications Direct experience in transformer or switchgear manufacturing, refurbishment, or aftermarket parts and service. Experience standing up or scaling a service / aftermarket line of business. Familiarity with applicable industry standards and codes (e.g., ANSI/IEEE, UL, NEC) as they apply to electrical equipment specification and quoting. Experience in a highgrowth manufacturing environment. The role requires the ability to move about a manufacturing floor, occasionally lift up to 25 pounds, and communicate effectively across office, shop, and customer settings.
