Work Environment\nThis position is predominantly remote, enabling flexibility while maintaining a connection with our outpatient office in Cambridge. You will collaborate with geriatric psychiatrists and other mental health experts in a collegial atmosphere, fostering a culture of teamwork and shared learning. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts required to meet patient needs.
Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments of elderly patients, taking into account their unique challenges related to aging. \n
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans grounded in evidence-based practices tailored to each patient’s cognitive, physical, and social realities. \n
- Provide individual and family therapy sessions, utilizing techniques and modalities suited for aging populations. \n
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including geriatric psychiatrists, to ensure comprehensive and integrated care. \n
- Deliver crisis intervention services during mental health emergencies, providing immediate support and stabilization for patients and their families. \n
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment plans, and community resources to empower their journey to better mental health. \n
- Maintain precise and confidential documentation adhering to legal and ethical standards, ensuring continuity of care. \n
- Participate actively in team meetings and case consultations to share insights and strategies for improving patient outcomes. \n
- Stay current on research and advancements in geriatric psychiatry to enhance therapeutic practices and patient care. \n
You will primarily work with elderly patients grappling with various psychiatric conditions. This includes individuals experiencing cognitive decline, emotional distress, and interpersonal challenges often exacerbated by aging. Your role will require a deep understanding of geriatric mental health disorders, facilitating sensitive and informed care that respects each patient's personal history and ongoing needs.
Qualifications\n- \n
- Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. \n
- Active and valid licensure as an LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT in Massachusetts. \n
- A minimum of two years of post-licensure clinical experience is preferred. \n
- Strong foundational knowledge of geriatric mental health disorders and effective therapeutic interventions. \n
- Proficient in delivering individual and family therapy to older adults, demonstrating empathy and patience. \n
- Exceptional communication skills, with a focus on building trusting relationships with both patients and families. \n
- Proficient in the use of electronic health record (EHR) systems and other digital applications. \n
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, showing flexibility and adaptability to various clinical situations. \n
Experience working directly with older adult populations is highly valued, especially in contexts involving mental health issues. Familiarity with community resources and support systems for the elderly will enhance your ability to connect patients with necessary services.
Compensation and Benefits\nThe annual salary for this role ranges from $75,000 to $100,000, reflecting our commitment to compensating our team members fairly for their qualifications and experience.
