JOB OPENING FOR A LibrarianAt theSt. George LibraryFull Time with Benefits$22.15 HourlyWashington County is seeking a Librarian to join the County Library System and help provide welcoming,knowledgeable, and engaging library services to our community.This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, connecting patrons withinformation and resources, supporting library programs, and staying current with technology and libraryservices.WHAT YOU'LL DOAs a Librarian, you will help patrons of all ages discover information, resources, programs, and materials that meet their needs.• Provide reference assistance to patrons of all ages and interests in a friendly, non-biased, and non-judgmental manner.• Answer general and detailed reference questions and assist patrons in locating library materials and resources.• Provide readers' advisory services based on patron interests and needs.• Teach patrons how to use computers, online databases, the Internet, and other library resources.• Promote library programs, services, and materials through displays, bulletin boards, and other outreach and marketing efforts.• Provide general training to library patrons, community groups, and organizations.WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FORWe are looking for a professional who enjoys serving the public and can build positive relationships with patrons, coworkers, and community partners.The ideal candidate will have:• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.• The ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with employees, coworkers, and patrons.• A commitment to providing friendly, tactful, and diplomatic public service.• The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.• The ability to research and locate specialized or hard-to-find materials.• The ability to learn and effectively use new technology and library systems.• The ability to plan and support specialized library services.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience:• Bachelor's degree; AND• Two (2) years of experience performing the above or related duties;OR• An equivalent combination of education and experience. A complete job description and application can be found on our website. - resources/jobs/Only Applications submitted online will be accepted.
