Plant Operator (37366)

DESCRIPTION:

• Operate computerized controls to produce quality asphalt mixtures according to specifications and mix designs for State and local customers
• Deliver specified mixture and quantities onto trucks/load trucks and create proper tickets
• Be able to recognize improper tickets and correct them
• Ensure personnel safety including customers delivering/receiving materials
• Monitor the operation and function of the plant throughout the workday
• Assist with plant maintenance and routine servicing
• Assist plant foreman with ordering supplies and materials
• Train plant personnel and have knowledge of their daily tasks

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

• 1-3 experience years including familiarized with aspects of mix design, mix design manufacturing process, and operation and maintenance of a computerized plant
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Use of simple math, including use of Excel workbooks or similar with knowledge of formulas, charts, tables, drawings
• General computer skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Moderate physical activity required
• Occasional lifting of heavy material, especially when plant is under repair

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

High school diploma or GED
