Credit Collections Representative

 

We are a leading wholesale beauty supply distributor located in Suffolk County seeking a Credit Collections Representative with strong communication, organization, and customer service skills to join our busy Collections Department.

 

Job Summary:

The Credit Collections Representative is responsible for collecting delinquent accounts, reviewing account activity, supporting the credit application process, and maintaining accurate records of account status and follow-up activity.

 

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Related experience in accounts receivable/collections is highly preferred.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

Requests and pursues payment on delinquent accounts via communication with account holder.

· Follows established guidelines to review and update account status.

· Maintains logs of payment promises and pertinent account details as well as schedules follow-up communication with account holder.

· Processes credit applications and collects further information as needed.

· Reviews credit references by independently validating references provided by the applicant or by using a credit reporting service.

· Prepares recommendations for increasing or decreasing credit limits based on account holder’s payment history.

· Determines, based on established credit guidelines, the credit limit to be approved.

· Consults with credit manager or other appropriate personnel when client credit requests exceed established guidelines.

· Monitors accounts receivable and cash receipt reports.

· Performs any other related duties, as required.

Other Required Skills/Abilities:

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to communicate with account holders in a courteous manner.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

· Must be proficient in typing, sending emails, and responding in a timely manner.

Hourly Rate of Pay:

· $22- $25 per hour.
