About the Position

Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00 - 07:00 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required. License: Current Registered Nurse license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC Must-Have: Emergency and/or critical care experience preferred. One year of Medical-Surgical experience preferred. Description: The Emergency Department Registered Nurse is responsible for a designated group of patients during a specified time frame. The RN provides care to patients through the therapeutic use of the nursing process. The RN collaborates and integrates with other health care team members. The RN demonstrates the knowledge and skills needed to care for patients relevant to their age-specific needs. The RN assesses and interprets patient data to identify each patient's requirements. The RN functions as a primary RN in Triage, Main ED, and Fast Track. The RN may be assigned to float to other areas of the hospital as a resource, as directed by leadership or the House Supervisor. When floated, the RN is expected to follow the guidance of the Charge Nurse in the assigned department. The RN must maintain high standards of care and safety while practicing in these various roles.
