Criminal Defense Attorney

Bolton Law PLLC is a well-established law firm serving clients across North Idaho and Eastern Washington. We are known for aggressive, client-centered advocacy in criminal defense and are looking for an experienced Criminal Defense Attorney who is ready to step in, take ownership of a caseload, and make an immediate impact.

This is not a training ground role. We are looking for a seasoned attorney who has handled serious criminal matters, knows their way around a courtroom, and is ready to contribute from day one.

*What You Will Do*

· Manage a full criminal defense caseload across misdemeanor, gross misdemeanor, and felony matters

· Appear regularly in court for hearings, motions, pre-trial conferences, and trials in Idaho and/or Washington state courts

· Conduct client intakes and strategy sessions, advising clients clearly and confidently on their options

· Negotiate with prosecutors on plea agreements and case resolutions

· Prepare and argue pre-trial motions, including suppression motions, motions to dismiss, and other dispositive filings

· Draft pleadings, briefs, and correspondence with precision and professionalism

· Collaborate with firm leadership, paralegals, and support staff to deliver excellent client outcomes

*What We Are Looking For*

· Active bar license in Idaho (required); Washington State license is a strong plus

· Minimum 3 years of criminal defense experience, with meaningful trial and hearing experience

· Demonstrated ability to manage an independent caseload

· Strong courtroom presence and oral advocacy skills

· Familiarity with Idaho criminal procedure, rules of evidence, and local court practices

· Highly organized, responsive, and client-focused

· Ability to start within 30 to 60 days

*Compensation and Benefits*

· Base salary: $140,000 - $200,000 annually, commensurate with experience
