Job Title: Surgical Technologist (CST)
Location: Rochester, NY
Type: Contract
Shift & Schedule: Day Shift | 4 x 10-Hour Shifts | 11:00 AM – 9:30 PM | On-Call Required
Pay Rate: $36 - $40/ hr (Based on Experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist (CST) to support a high-volume operating room by assisting surgeons and the surgical team across multiple surgical specialties while maintaining a safe, sterile environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the operating room, sterile field, surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies before, during, and after surgical procedures.

• Assist surgeons and the surgical team by anticipating procedural needs, passing instruments, handling specimens, and ensuring compliance with aseptic technique and Universal Protocol (Time Out).

• Support surgical procedures across General OR, Bariatric, Vascular, ENT, General Surgery, Breast, Gynecology, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic, Plastic, Podiatry, Colorectal Robotic, Thoracic, and Urology specialties, including laparoscopic-assisted procedures and the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System.

• Perform decontamination and sterilization processes, maintain sharps safety standards, participate in on-call coverage, and ensure quality patient care throughout the surgical process.

Required Qualifications

• Current CST certification (required unless the traveler has worked as a Surgical Technologist in New York prior to 2015).

• Minimum 3 years of Surgical Technologist experience; experience across 12 surgical service lines preferred.

• Experience in General OR, Bariatric, Vascular, ENT, General Surgery, Breast, Gynecology, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic, Plastic, Podiatry, Colorectal Robotic, Thoracic, and Urology procedures, including laparoscopic-assisted procedures, Da Vinci Xi Surgical System, aseptic technique, decontamination and sterilization, sharps safety, specimen handling, and Universal Protocol (Time Out).

• Ability to participate in on-call rotation (6 shifts per 8-week block, including weekends and holidays).

Preferred Qualifications

• Epic experience preferred.
