Buffalo Biodiesel Inc. is in growth mode and currently seeking a skilled and motivated Assistant Head Mechanic  to support the team.  This role is ideal for a hands-on commercial truck mechanic who can assist in leading shop operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant fleet performance.  

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head Mechanic in overseeing daily shop operations
• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on commercial trucks and heavy duty vehicles
• Oversee, assign, and support routine and preventative maintenance tasks
• Work closely with mechanics to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues
• Maintain accurate repair logs, parts usage, and service records
• Collaborate with Fleet Management and Dispatch to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime
• Assist with onboarding, training, and performance support for mechanics
• Ensure shop safety, cleanliness, and compliance with company policies
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or community college courses in automotive technology or related fields is preferred
• 5+ years' of hands-on commercial truck repair experience
• Experience supporting or supervising mechanics in a shop environment
• Excellent communication skills
• Reliable, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
• Valid driver's license; CDL preferred but not required
• Maintain a drug-free lifestyle (BBD complies with the Federal Drug-Free Workplace Act)

Shift:

• Monday through Friday
• 7:00am – 4:00pm

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00
