Inspectors are the face of our company, showing expertise, enthusiasm, and meticulousness while delivering Trust, Transparency, Credibility, and Customer Service to our customers every day. What you will do Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience Partnering with a Territory Manager and a team of inspectors, conduct inspections of vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off‑lease to detect damage, missing parts, and mechanical problems Prepare and submit a report of vehicle condition, repair/replacement cost estimates, and related documentation Help the sales team up‑sell or cross‑sell services and products Interface regularly with dealers to develop and ensure client satisfaction and build strong relationships Travel to and from dealerships and homes to inspect, write condition reports, and list vehicles for sale on the auction platform Take multiple overall and damage photos, match them to a vehicle, and upload them to the image server using the company‑issued smartphone List inspected wholesale vehicles using the ACV Auctions platform for bidding and purchasing Sign up independent dealerships as buyers to utilize the ACV Auctions digital platform Perform additional duties as assigned What you will need At least 1 year of experience in the automobile field (body, paint, and mechanical repair knowledge) with a customer service background Ability to read, write, speak and understand English Ability to work outside in the elements for extended periods Problem‑solving aptitude with resourceful and innovative approaches Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision while functioning in a team environment Excellent communication skills to understand customer needs and expectations Valid driver’s license and a validly registered and insured motor vehicle Knowledge of system capabilities and relevant software packages, including web‑based applications Ability to perform manual labor such as standing for extended periods, lifting up to 25 lbs or more, bending, and squatting Ability to drive manual and automatic transmissions Vision abilities required to identify small defects around and underneath vehicles Compensation The compensation range for this position is listed in the “Job Details” section at the bottom of this posting. This position is eligible for additional compensation pursuant to ACV’s incentive compensation plan. Final compensation will be determined based on the applicant’s relevant experience, skill set, location, business needs, market demands, and other factors as permitted by law.
