Job Summary

The Lead Teacher creates a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment where young children can learn, grow, and thrive. This position is responsible for planning and implementing age-appropriate curriculum, monitoring each child's development, maintaining classroom organization and cleanliness, and ensuring compliance with childcare licensing requirements.

The Lead Teacher supervises children closely, communicates effectively with families, maintains accurate classroom records, and works collaboratively with other teachers and center leadership. The ideal candidate is dependable, patient, organized, and passionate about early childhood education and supporting the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of every child.

Responsibilities

• Implement Classroom Curriculum and Plan weekly activities
• Monitor Child Development and Progress
• Assist with Center Cleaning and support colleagues
• Ensure children's records and phots are updated in management systems
• Maintain a safe environment and communicate with parents
• Complete In-service and yearly training, comply with regulations
• Inform Teachers and Directors of classroom and building issues
• Organize and arrange classroom appropriately
• Collaborate with staff to maintain professional environment
• Maintain cleanliness of center
• Be willing to assist director with miscellaneous duties
• Supervise children, ensure playground safety, and maintain cleanliness of classrooms and restrooms

Preferred Qualifications

• Must be 18 Years or older
• Possess the North Carolina Early Childhood Credential or its equivalent
• Two-year degree in early childhood education or related field
• Certification or trainings in early childhood education curriculum development
• Strong Organizational skills for managing classroom arrangements and records
• Effective communication skills for interacting with parents, teachers, and colleagues
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and training
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations pertaining to childcare
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Experience in implementing and monitoring curriculum and activities
• Familiarity with child development principles and best practices
