Shift Details

• Shift: Night Shift
• Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Schedule: 4x12-hour shifts
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Call: No call
• Floating: May float to like units on the same campus or other Ascension campuses within Wichita

Position Overview

Ascension Via Christi St. Francis is seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced inpatient setting. The RN will be responsible for delivering safe, effective, and compassionate care to adult medical-surgical patients while collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to medical-surgical patients
• Perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered
• Monitor and document patient condition and response to treatment
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and patient safety standards
• Float to similar units as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted RN State License
• Current BLS Certification
• Recent Med-Surg RN experience
• Ability to work night shifts and every other weekend

Required Skills & Competencies

• Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• Strong clinical assessment skills
• Medication administration competency
• Ability to manage multiple patients in a high-acuity environment

• BLS Certification
• RN State License
• Core Mandatory Exam – Nursing
• Core Mandatory Part I
• Core Mandatory Part II (Nursing)
• Core Mandatory Part III
• RN – Medical Surgical Skills
• RN – Medical Surgical A
• RN – Pharmacology A

Facility Details

• EMR: Cerner OneChart
• Dress Code: Ceil blue scrubs required
• Holiday commitment required for elevated pay rate
• Must be willing to float to similar units or other campuses within Wichita
• Compliance requirement: No new compliance packet required if service break is less than 90 days and annual requirements are current
