PARK MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT – BAY AREA DISTRICT / OLOMPALI STATE HISTORIC PARK This classification is subject to the Post and Bid process. Applications from a certification list, transfer change in class, reinstatement, re-employment, and training and development assignment candidates will be accepted for this position but consistent with the MOU/Bargaining Agreement BU12/13 contract cannot be acted upon unless the Post & Bid process does not result in a hire.

The Park Maintenance Assistant (PMA) position works under the supervision of the Park Maintenance Supervisor. The reporting location for the position is the Olompali State Historic Park office located at 8901 Redwood Hwy, Novato, CA. This position serves as the unit's lead and is responsible for routine housekeeping, groundskeeping and other maintenance related responsibilities to include skilled and unskilled minor repairs for the historic and non-historic structures. This position is responsible for assisting other permanent classifications in a variety of assignments relating to restoration, preservation, and stabilization of park facilities. The PMA helps maintain project safety; performs minor maintenance to keep tools, materials, and equipment in good condition; performs routine cleanup and unskilled maintenance, keeps simple records, assists with MAXIMO documentation. This position has leadership responsibilities to include training and working with permanent, seasonal, volunteer and other special program crews. This position may be required to perform work in other locations throughout the district. The incumbent's work schedule will be Sunday - Wednesday, from 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM. The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment. Possession of a valid Class C driver's license is required. Special Requirement/Condition of Employment: Depending on the assigned location, the incumbent may be required to occupy state-owned housing to meet operational needs, or may be offered state-owned housing if available. Housing assignments will be determined in accordance with Department policy, operational priorities, and applicable labor agreements.
