About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Federal and Political Affairs to lead its mission of creating a safer America by addressing the epidemic of gun violence. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and executing federal affairs and political strategies to advance critical legislation, establish sensible gun safety regulations, and support the election of candidates aligned with gun safety. This role requires a seasoned professional with at least 15 years' experience in federal legislative lobbying or political campaigns, particularly in the advocacy sector, and a proven track record of managing a team and outside consultants. The VP will also be a senior spokesperson, representing the organization in Washington, DC, and will be expected to build and maintain high-level relationships with government officials, elected leaders, and other stakeholders. Applicants for the Vice President of Federal and Political Affairs position at the company should have a strong background in policy development and analysis, as well as the ability to grow the organization's brand and network. The role demands exceptional people and project management skills, the ability to work with diverse teams, and a commitment to inclusion, diversity, equity, and anti-racism. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to influence leaders and drive decision-making, and will be adept at conveying complex issues in a clear and simple manner. A strategic mindset, problem-solving skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively with external partners are essential.
