Investment Funds Associate Attorney

Direct Counsel is seeking an Investment Funds Associate Attorney to join a leading global law firm in Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, or Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities:

• Advise fund sponsors and investors on the formation and operation of domestic and international private equity, real estate, venture capital, and hedge funds.
• Represent clients in secondary transactions, including GP-led and LP-led transactions.
• Assist with structuring separately managed accounts and carried interest vehicles.
• Deliver sophisticated legal advice and contribute to a market-leading investment funds practice.
• Manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain high standards of client service.

Requirements:

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• 3–6 years of relevant experience in investment funds law.
• Experience representing fund sponsors and/or investors in fund formation, fund operations, and secondary transactions.
• Strong academic credentials and excellent written, verbal, and analytical skills.
• Admission to practice in the state where the candidate will be based.
• Direct, relevant experience at an Am Law 100 law firm preferred.
• Experience structuring separately managed accounts and carry vehicles is a plus.

Compensation: $260,000–$390,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications, plus comprehensive benefits.
