Windows Server Systems Engineer

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for design, architecture, administration, and maintenance of Windows Server Operating Systems
• Administer the company's Windows-based systems and related infrastructure
• Architect and administer Microsoft Azure IaaS and PaaS resources leveraging RBAC
• Design, manage, and support the Microsoft Active Directory infrastructure
• Configure Windows Server Operating systems. Deep understanding of GPO, File/Folder Replication, DNS and Windows domain knowledge
• Administration of enterprise group policies
• Monitor, maintain, patch and upgrade all aspects of Windows Server environments including Active Directory and ADFS
• Experience in the design and management of high availability and Disaster Recovery of Windows systems both on-premise and in the Cloud
• Conduct research on software and systems products to enhance/ improve areas of responsibility
• Establish and maintain technical infrastructure and architecture standards to ensure that systems are scalable, reliable, secure, cost-effective, and maintainable; contribute to the development of the technology roadmap for the company
• Design and build test and production environments while maintaining proper documentation and adhering to all corporate policies and procedures
• Perform root cause analysis of issues and provide recommendations to improve efficiencies and resolve problems
• Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure system-related products and services
• Assist with the creation and implementation of security standards, policies, and procedures
• Analyze and evaluate security operations to identify risks or opportunities for improvement
• Communicate security status, updates, and actual or potential problems, using established protocols
• Provide 24x7 on-call support on a rotating basis
• Supports Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) processes and procedures
• Additional duties as assigned

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related discipline and at least 5 years of experience as a Systems Engineer. An additional 5 years of experience may be substituted for degree.
• Must have 5-7 years of progressive related experience with provisioning of services, monitoring, upgrading software, configuration management, and understanding and maintaining services, such as AD, Client, DNS, DHCP and server builds from scratch with/without domain service
• 5-7 years as a Windows administrator with strong PowerShell scripting skills and managing a large Active Directory environment
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong customer service skills, and experience leading technical projects required
• Knowledge of telecommunication and network systems and relevant hardware and software applications required
• Working knowledge of Linux, a plus
• Advanced knowledge of computer concepts, design, and implementation; working knowledge of programming languages, database, internet/intranet and on-line systems, proficient in Microsoft Office, Visio, Project, and other related tools
• Strong and methodical trouble-shooting skills
• Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational, and planning skills
• Proven track record as a team player, quick learner and a self-learner
• Office365 management and administration experience
• Azure IaaS and PaaS experience
• Flexibility to quickly adapt to change
• Ability to function effectively in a fast paced, team-oriented work environment
• Strong oral and written communication and facilitation skills
• Ability to relate to non-technical users in user-friendly language
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives or activities, and effectively make judgments in prioritizing and time allocation in a high-pressure environment

Required Technical and Systems Experience:

• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems, Active Directory (GPO, DNS, DHCP)
• Office365/MS Exchange
• Microsoft Azure
• PowerShell

Preferred Education, Experience, Certifications and Skills:

• Master's Degree in an IT related field
• ITIL
• Experience with VMware vSphere virtual infrastructure
