Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a float position requiring charge nurse experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

• Float RN role covering MS/Tele units within the hospital
• Patient population may include ER boarded patients, telemetry, and med-surg cases
• Nurse to patient ratio varies 1:4-6 depending on unit acuity
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 1900-0730
• Charge responsibilities may apply on select small units staffed by 1-2 RNs supported by LPNs and CNAs
• Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at submission
• BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Experience with patient ratios of 1:4-6 required
• Epic charting system experience required
• US clinical experience required; Canadian experience alone does not qualify
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response required
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and nasal cannula respiratory support

Additional Information

• Floating required between units and possibly sister facilities within the state
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius to be considered for the local rate
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month break, provided they reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Candidates must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities, including dates and location
• Two supervisory references required, covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this role
