Job Summary The Maintenance Superintendent will assist in the planning, development, implementation, control, and supervision of all plant maintenance programs, including buildings, equipment, boiler room, refrigeration, and waste treatment. Responsibilities include coordinating all work needed to keep the plant in operation, establishing communication between mechanical and plant operations, maintaining an effective preventative maintenance schedule, controlling mechanical inventories, promoting safety, developing staff, implementing maintenance or special projects to achieve labor goals, and managing costs and resources in line with company goals. Compensation DOE, Bonus Eligible Responsibilities Supervises workers engaged in major painting projects, performing structural repairs to masonry, woodwork, and furnishings of buildings, and maintaining and repairing building utility systems such as electrical wiring and controls, heating, and ventilating systems. Supervises workers engaged in installing, servicing, and repairing mechanical equipment. Supervises employees who maintain, repair and service plant equipment, buildings, and facilities. Utilizes working knowledge of electrical systems, both control and industrial wiring, pipe fitting, plumbing, welding, shop machinery, sheet metal, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical controls and instrumentation to maintain plant equipment at optimal level. Uses knowledge of automatic equipment operation, to include setup, repair and tear down, to maintain plant equipment at optimal levels. Inspects completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards. Prepares work schedules and assigns work to subordinates. Interprets company policy to employees and enforces company policy and practices. Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists employees in solving work problems. Works on projects involving the construction of new buildings and facilities and the alteration or modification of existing ones. Maintains production equipment in a manner that meets organization standards and ensures minimum equipment downtime. Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies. Establishes and maintains preventive maintenance programs and procedures. Administers training programs to ensure proper operations, preventive maintenance, and repair programs and procedures. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience in the manufacturing environment and excellent knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, electronic, PLCs, mechanical equipment, refrigeration, boilers, and facilities. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. #J-18808-Ljbffr
