Product Support Specialist

Note: Safety shoes are required on the first day. Shoes may be composite or steel toe, but they must be approved safety shoes. Position Overview We are seeking a Product Support Specialist to perform a variety of product support duties within a team environment while following well-defined procedures and processes. This position may support one or more functions, including raw stock, parts identification, shipping, receiving, stockroom, stock handling, clean operations, and parts handling. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, basic computer skills, manual dexterity, and the ability to safely handle materials and equipment in a production environment. Raw Stock Receive incoming raw stock and verify material against documentation for identification and quantity accuracy. Load and unload trucks and move raw material to the proper location. Identify and code raw material. Operate saw equipment to cut stock to required dimensional specifications. Issue jobs according to schedule. Update shop floor, MRP, and other applicable systems. Parts Identification Identify parts using appropriate identification methods and equipment indicated by the traveler and/or blueprint. Lay out exact dimensions and locations on parts for identification markings. Ensure parts are properly identified according to applicable specifications. Shipping Prepare parts and materials for safe shipment. Complete required paperwork and shipping records. Maintain shipping logs. Prepare packaging according to shipment specifications. Enter required information into computer systems for labels, forms, and shipping records. Receiving Receive shipments at the receiving dock. Forward materials to the appropriate team. Weigh or count incoming and outbound parts or materials. Verify received materials against applicable documentation. Stockroom Receive, check, and identify parts by type or part number. Prepare parts for storage and place stock in the proper location. Select parts from stock to fill orders according to parts lists. Perform cycle inventory counts. Maintain and access necessary inventory records using a computer. Clean Operations Use appropriate cleaning and degreasing methods to clean parts and equipment. Remove oil and contamination according to established procedures and specifications. Oil parts as required to prevent rust and corrosion. Parts Handling Follow traveler/route sheet instructions when moving parts between functions or teams. Use forklifts or other material-moving devices as required. Package or repackage parts to prevent damage during movement or handling. Request and stage tooling required to support team schedules. Audit material storage areas to support inventory location and count accuracy. Observe all safety rules and regulations. Maintain work areas in a neat and orderly condition. Perform other related responsibilities as assigned. General knowledge of computer terminal operations. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Ability to read and understand related forms and specifications. Ability to safely handle materials and follow established procedures. May be required to operate moving equipment and saw equipment and meet OSHA safety qualifications. May require a forklift operator certificate. Must be willing and able to work 2nd Shift: 1:30 PM–10:00 PM . Safety shoes are required on the first day; composite or steel toe safety shoes are acceptable. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in manufacturing, warehouse, production, shipping/receiving, stockroom, or material handling. Previous forklift experience or certification. Experience working with MRP or inventory management systems. Experience reading travelers, route sheets, blueprints, or material documentation. Fast-paced manufacturing and production environment. Regular handling and movement of raw materials, parts, and equipment. May involve operation of forklifts, saw equipment, and other material-moving equipment. Requires strict adherence to safety procedures and maintaining an organized work area. Safety shoes are required. Physical Requirements Ability to load, unload, move, and handle materials and parts. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks as required. Manual dexterity required for handling parts, materials, tools, and equipment. Ability to safely operate or work around material-handling equipment as required.
