Our client in Vista, California, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team! This is an onsite/full-time/direct hire position Salary based on experience: $115K - $120K

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a passionate and process-driven Manufacturing Engineer to support and continuously improve our softgel compounding and encapsulation production operations. A key focus of this position will also be responsible for day-to-day supporting the softgel encapsulation production team, troubleshooting, increasing production capacity, driving lean manufacturing initiatives, and creating work instructions. As an integral part of continuous improvement efforts, the role provides training and guidance to improve efficiencies in operations.

Work with the R&D department on the successful commercialization of new products. Optimization and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment and processes. Create, update, and train the production team on Work Instructions(WI) following our GMP protocols. Be a subject matter expert in softgel manufacturing with continuous support of the production team to optimize the processes. Assist with CAPA and RCA, Kaizen, and 5S. Be an integral part of the lean manufacturing team and continuously explore innovative cost-saving ideas for low-cost manufacturing. Implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to increase productivity, reduce waste, and improve product quality. Utilize statistical analysis techniques to identify variables and optimize the encapsulation production line for improved efficiency and product quality. Manage capital projects related to equipment upgrades, new installations, and perform IQ, OQ, and PQ Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, ensuring that all mechanical systems and processes adhere to industry standards. Keep up-to-date with advancements in manufacturing technology, equipment, and best practices, and propose upgrades and improvements to keep the plant at the forefront of operational excellence. Performs other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, and Food Engineering. Work experience in softgel encapsulation manufacturing is required.
