Plastipak Packaging, Inc. Atlanta, GA 30336 General Description Is responsible for demand planning, scheduling, warehousing, and delivery. RESPONSIBILITIES Member of the site steering team Reports on the effectiveness and performance of the quality system for the benefit of the Site Steering Team Verifies adherence to all procedures within Safety, Corporate / Site Quality System, Operational Procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices Maintains contact with customers and carriers regarding quality and service in conjunction with the Quality Department and Corporate Procurement Reviews the planning and scheduling of production. Responsible for maintaining ISO standards Ensures that the Site Quality and Food Safety Policy, Operational Procedures and High Standards of Workmanship are maintained at all times. Responsible for the accuracy of product scanning / inventories Maintains and reviews Finished Goods Management Program to determine long term storage requirements Verifies that scheduling is based on Business Demand Plan, Customer Orders, or Forecasts Maintains and reviews company’s information system or in-house system for warehouse analysis to monitor what to store, how much to store, and where to store the products that require inventory Monitors site capacity regarding supply / demand problems and assists in locating capacity from back-up site as directed by Product Supply Provide for movement and storage of all finished product Monitors the assignment of carriers by lane and by customer Responsible for the tracking mechanisms and accountability of the following measures: On-time delivery to customers Logistics costs Days on hand Warehouse cost per thousand Inventory Accuracy Inventory shrinkage Maintains relationship with customers / carriers Responsible for the management of logistics associate including hiring, training, and disciplinary actions Verifies proper trailer allocation and availability for daily activities Operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current Coordination of logistic activities with activities of other functions such as conversion, administration, quality, sales, and purchasing Assists in analyzing contractual commitments, customer specifications, and other data to plan and develop logistic program activities from conceptual stage through life cycle of product Develops, implements activities to resolve problems in the area of logistics, and maintains relationships with carriers to ensure meeting of contractual agreements Responsible for reporting food safety issues to personnel with authority to initiate action Initiate action for food safety issues REQUIREMENTS Team oriented Self-motivated Must have proven leadership skills and experience Must have effective communication and interpersonal skills Must have flexibility of job assignments Bachelor’s degree and/or 10 years prior related work experience As a Plastipak Associate, you receive a benefits package offering the following: Wellness Programs EAP, Employee Assistance Program Life Insurance Disability Insurance: Short-Term & Long-Term Critical Illness Insurance Hospital Indemnity Insurance 401(k) Plan, with Company Matching Contribution & Profit Sharing feature Paid Time Off - 80 hours within 1st year & subsequent increases Paid Company Holidays Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account Pet Insurance Tuition Assistance Program Sons and Daughters Scholarship Program Travel Assistance Employee Discount Programs *Some benefits are subject to eligibility requirements Plastipak is an Equal Opportunity Employer In order to process your job application, Plastipak collects and stores the personal information that you submit via this website.
