Billing Specialist

Schneider Buchel LLP is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Billing Clerk to support the firm's billing, collections, accounts receivable, and administrative functions. This role is responsible for assisting with client invoicing, payment follow-up, account maintenance, and financial recordkeeping. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, comfortable communicating with clients, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced office environment. Responsibilities Billing & Accounts Receivable Generate, review, and distribute client invoices and monthly statements Update client billing information and maintain accurate account records Assist with processing billing adjustments and payment applications Respond to requests for invoices, statements, and account information Review account balances and assist with billing-related inquiries Maintain organized billing documentation and records Collections support - Follow up on outstanding invoices and send payment reminder emails; document client communications regarding account balances and payment arrangements. Administrative & Accounting Support Perform data entry related to billing, payments, and client accounts Scan, file, and maintain digital records and correspondence Update spreadsheets and reports for billing and collections activity Assist with account reconciliations and other accounting projects as assigned Support general office and administrative tasks as needed Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Professional phone and email communication skills Ability to handle confidential financial information Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently Preferred Prior experience in billing, collections, accounts receivable, or office administration Experience working in a law firm, accounting office, or professional services environment Familiarity with billing or accounting software Professional and customer-service oriented Strong follow-through and time management skillsAccurate and detail-oriented Comfortable communicating with clients regarding account balances Positive attitude and willingness to learn Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism Compensation $50,000 per year At Schneider Buchel LLP, we’re more than just coworkers — we’re a team that genuinely cares about one another and the clients we serve.
