Full-Time • Part-Time • PRN • 1099 Independent Contractor

Position Details & Compensation

IMPORTANT: This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position.

• Pay: $30–$35 per hour
• Mileage reimbursement when applicable
• Full-Time, Part-Time & PRN opportunities
• Flexible scheduling, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends
• Active professional malpractice insurance is required

As a 1099 Independent Contractor, the nurse is responsible for maintaining active professional malpractice insurance, a valid nursing license, required certifications, and personal automobile insurance throughout their engagement with Vision Healthcare, LLC.

Position Summary

The Private Duty LPN provides skilled nursing services to medically complex pediatric and adult patients in their homes. Working under physician orders and individualized Plans of Care, the LPN provides safe, compassionate nursing care while promoting patient safety, comfort, and quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one skilled nursing care in the patient's home.
• Complete nursing assessments and monitor patient condition.
• Monitor vital signs and report changes in condition.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
• Provide tracheostomy, ventilator, and oxygen care when applicable.
• Perform enteral feeding and feeding tube management.
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, and ports as applicable and within LPN scope of practice.
• Provide catheter and ostomy care.
• Perform wound care and dressing changes as ordered.
• Monitor for changes in condition and promptly notify the appropriate healthcare provider.
• Educate patients and caregivers regarding medications, treatments, and disease management.
• Complete timely and accurate electronic documentation.
• Follow physician orders, individualized Plans of Care, agency policies, and applicable Virginia and payer requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required:

• Current, unrestricted Virginia LPN license
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Active professional malpractice insurance
• Valid driver's license
• Reliable transportation
• Current automobile insurance
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a home care setting

Preferred:

• Home health experience
• Pediatric experience
• Private duty nursing experience
• Ventilator and tracheostomy experience
• G-Tube experience
• Infusion therapy experience
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience
