The Verizon Consumer Group is hiring a Digital Marketing Strategist to play a key role within our digital marketing organizations. With an emphasis on search engine optimization (SEO) & generative engine optimization (GEO), this role requires experience in all aspects of content & technical strategy, with holistic decision making rooted in data, insights, and best practices. In this role, you will be contributing to Verizon’s search marketing strategy to promote the company’s brand and build upon our organic approach to incorporate key functions to connect with consumers within large language models. We are looking for a passionate marketer with extensive background in search marketing who is looking to have an impact on Verizon’s digital team. You will be expected to assist in the execution of large-scale strategic initiatives for Verizon and have a strong understanding of the evolving search environment. Responsibilities include: Knowledge of AI and large language models to develop and deploy an AI strategy that connects consumers to commerce outcomes. Contribute to forward thinking strategies that incorporate technical requirements, optimized content and web infrastructure to enable AI models to crawl, understand and cite our brand. Understand business objectives and develop analytical solutions that help achieve them, along with metrics to track their progress. Organize and prioritize multiple tracks of work, quantifying opportunities, in terms of level of effort and upside. Contribute to forward thinking strategies that enable on-site digital success as well as connecting with consumers as they change their digital search behaviors. Assist with cross-channel analytics that evaluate total organic search footprint with generative AI metrics from large language model platforms. Work with technical teams, including (but not limited to) technology, front end development and infrastructure. Advise, collaborate, and work cross-functionally with business stakeholders, designers, and dev to ensure SEO/ GEO best practices. Develop efficiencies through AI and marketing automation. Open to explore new methods of search strategy. What we’re looking for... You’ll need to have: Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience. Four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training. Marketer / agency / consultative services experience in SEO and/or GEO. Strong analytical skills with the ability to apply business strategy to data analysis and recommendations. Strong experience with dashboards and reporting, involving large datasets and multiple data sources, with ability to interpret data and produce meaningful insights. Detail-oriented approach to holistic marketing measurement and project management. Very strong organization and time management skills. Experience leveraging SEO/ GEO and analytics data as a guide for strategy and decision making. Even better if you have one or more of the following: Experience in relevant web design principles, UX/CX best practices. Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills. Experience analyzing data, monitoring campaigns for improvements, and ensuring campaign goals are being met. Ability to rapidly build expertise on new businesses and industry verticals. Experience with SEO tools to inform SEO strategy including but not limited to Google Sheets, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Google Data Studio, SEMRush, SimilarWebPro, Ahrefs, Botify, and Screaming Frog. Where you’ll be working In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
