CVICU Registered Nurse - 3x12 Hour Day Shift

Schedule

This is a 13-week contract position with 3x12 hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:30, covering every other weekend.

Job Description

The CVICU Registered Nurse will provide specialized care for patients following cardiac surgeries and related procedures. The ideal candidate will be skilled in managing critical care conditions and applying advanced nursing knowledge in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to post-sternotomy patients.
• Manage complex medical equipment such as ECMO, IABP, and CRRT.
• Administer medications and monitor patients’ vital signs and responses.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes.
• Document patient care findings in compliance with institutional protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2 years of experience in a CVICU setting.
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certification.
• Associate degree in Nursing; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience with advanced cardiac life support protocols.
