Job Description Job Description Temporary HR Records Audit Specialist Job Description This temporary HR Records Audit Specialist role focuses on ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of personnel records within a secure electronic system. You will review employee documentation, identify discrepancies, and maintain thorough audit records while working with large volumes of confidential information. The position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to follow established audit guidelines and procedures throughout a short-term project. Responsibilities Examine electronic employee files and supporting documentation within a secure records system to ensure proper organization and accessibility. Verify the completeness and accuracy of personnel records, identifying missing documents, inconsistencies, and potential compliance-related issues. Record audit results and findings in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and other tracking tools, ensuring data is accurate, clear, and well organized. Maintain and organize project documentation within cloud-based file storage systems, following established naming and filing conventions. Adhere strictly to established audit guidelines, processes, and documentation requirements to maintain consistency and compliance across all records. Safeguard confidential employee information and uphold data privacy standards at all times while handling sensitive documentation. Meet productivity and quality benchmarks while reviewing a high volume of records, balancing speed with accuracy and thoroughness. Escalate unusual situations, potential concerns, or unresolved issues to appropriate leadership channels for timely resolution. Partner with team members and project stakeholders to ensure project milestones and deadlines are achieved and communicated effectively. Work independently while following established procedures and timelines, managing workload and priorities to support project goals. Essential Skills Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify errors, inconsistencies, and missing information in personnel records. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including data entry, sorting, and filtering functions for managing audit data. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook and Excel, as well as file-sharing platforms for collaboration and documentation. Ability to navigate electronic document management systems and accurately track audit findings and status updates. Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills to handle a high volume of records and meet project deadlines. Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy while performing repetitive review tasks involving large quantities of information. Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally and in accordance with privacy standards. Availability to work onsite for the duration of the project. Ability to work independently while adhering to established procedures, timelines, and audit guidelines. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience supporting audits, compliance initiatives, quality assurance reviews, or records-management projects. Background in Human Resources, Payroll, Administrative Support, Compliance, or related functions. Familiarity with electronic records systems and digital document management platforms. Proven success reviewing large quantities of information while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Experience with HR-related audits, including onboarding and I-9 documentation review. Comfort working with audit and auditing processes in a human resources context. Ability to collaborate effectively with project stakeholders and team members in a structured audit environment. Work Environment This role is fully onsite and follows a Monday through Friday schedule, typically from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There is flexibility to frontload work Monday through Thursday in order to work a half day on Friday, depending on project needs. You will work within a secure records system and cloud-based file storage platforms, using Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook and Excel, as well as electronic document management systems.
