Registered Nurse Acute Rehab

Job Description The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. The RN utilizes the nursing process with technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members. Responsibilities Assess, recognize and address patients’ psychological and physical needs. Foster quality of care with the best interests of patients and their families in mind. Communicate compassionately and effectively with patients, families and care teams. Assist in developing individualized treatment plans. Comply with evaluation, treatment and documentation guidelines. Oversee care delivered by LPNs and/or CNAs. Participate in clinical team conferences. Follow hospital, regulatory, and professional guidelines, policies and procedures. Qualifications BLS/ACLS required upon hire for Cath Lab positions at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital. Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required. A Registered Nurse with an ASN/ADN must complete a BSN within four (4) years unless proven continuous RN experience in an acute care setting of at least fifteen (15) years. Failure to obtain a BSN within the deadline may result in suspension or termination. Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice is required. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) certification upon hire or within 60 days with prior approval (ACLS/NRP/PALS as appropriate). Demonstrated ability to see, read, and assess patient information, operate monitors, and identify equipment and supplies. Effective verbal communication skills to interact with patients and care providers. Manual dexterity to manipulate complex equipment with precision, frequent computer use and typing. Physical capability to lift, transfer, and move patients and supplies, including items up to heavy weights. Capacity to navigate crowded rooms and assist with patient ambulation. Ability to stand in a stationary position for extended periods as required. Location and Compensation Location: St. Mary’s Regional Hospital, Grand Junction, Colorado. Scheduled weekly hours: 36. Hourly rate: $36.71 – $56.17, dependent on experience.
