$100k - $120kLifeline of Ohio
Description Save lives. Build clinical excellence. Shape the future of recovery practice. We’re looking for a Clinical Trainer – Organ Recovery and Preservation to help develop the next generation of high-performing recovery professionals. This is not a traditional educator role. In this position, you will combine hands-on clinical expertise , live case coaching , and training program development to strengthen organ recovery practice across the team. You will work directly with Organ Recovery Coordinators, Organ Recovery Specialists, and Surgical Recovery Specialists to build surgical recovery capability, reinforce best practices in the field, and improve consistency, safety, and performance. If you’re the kind of clinician others trust during a case — and you’re passionate about teaching, coaching, and improving how work gets done — this role offers the chance to make a visible impact on people, process, and mission. What You'll Do Train and coach clinical staff in Organ Recovery Coordination (organ allocation and donor management) and Surgical Recovery practice (organ preservation) Develop current ORC and SRS staff into a cross-functional ORS (Organ Recovery Specialists) a combined role. Provide education through classroom sessions, skills-based training, and real-time coaching during live cases Spend significant time in the field during your first 6–12 months to learn our processes, build rapport with the team, and establish yourself as a trusted coach Observe cases, provide feedback, validate competencies, and identify areas for improvement Support rollout of procedural, policy, and operational changes that affect recovery practice Partner with leaders to strengthen staff readiness, reduce recovery errors, and improve patient safety Create and maintain training tools, competency pathways, and clinical education materials Contribute to innovation, process improvement, and standardization across recovery operations What to Expect No routine call During your first several months, schedule flexibility is important so you can attend cases and immerse yourself in team workflow Some evening or night case participation may be needed early on; weekends are generally not required Travel throughout the service area is expected (up to approximately 160 miles, though most travel is local) No overnight travel required After onboarding, you’ll continue regular field engagement, including approximately two on-site cases per month , plus additional field support tied to new processes or policy changes Why This Role Stands Out This role offers a unique blend of: Mission-driven impact Clinical variety Hands-on field coaching Program building and innovation Meaningful influence on quality, safety, and staff development You won’t just deliver training — you’ll help shape how recovery work is performed. This Role May Be a Great Fit If You… Are a highly credible recovery professional who enjoys teaching in real clinical situations Want a role with both field presence and strategic influence Like building structure, metrics, and consistency into training programs Want to improve outcomes through better coaching, standard work, and frontline capability Care deeply about mission and believe strong clinical education is part of saving lives This Role May Not Be the Right Fit If You… Prefer a classroom-only educator role Do not have hands-on recovery experience Are uncomfortable with flexible scheduling during the initial onboarding period Prefer highly predictable workflows over dynamic clinical environments Do not enjoy coaching others in real-time, high-accountability settings Requirements What You Bring 5+ years in organ donation , or 3+ years in organ donation plus prior experience as a surgical technologist, ICU nurse, or similar clinical role Hands-on organ recovery experience is required Strong understanding of organ recovery coordination, surgical recovery, operating room workflow, and donor management Experience teaching, precepting, mentoring, or coaching others is required .
