Base pay range $130,000.00/yr - $145,000.00/yr Job Overview A growing, well-established company in the St. Louis area is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead its accounting function and bring financial clarity across the business. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and enjoys balancing strategic oversight with daily accounting tasks. Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day accounting activities including general ledger, payables, receivables, payroll, and reconciliations. Ensure accurate month-end close and maintain reliable financial data throughout the month. Manage cash flow to support smooth operations and business growth. Collaborate with other departments to manage costs, monitor inventory, and ensure profit margins are maintained. Produce and analyze timely, GAAP-compliant financial statements for leadership, lenders, and the board. Supervise and develop a small accounting team, fostering accountability and growth opportunities. Create and interpret financial statements adhering to GAAP guidelines and provide stakeholders with meaningful performance data. Assist in maintaining strong internal controls and ensure compliance with all accounting, tax, and audit obligations. Oversee payroll processing and support benefits administration in partnership with HR. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA is a plus but not mandatory. Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience. Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls. Proficiency with ERP systems.
