Systems Administrator 3 Full Time Regular Hampton, VA, US EMCO is seeking Systems Administrator to support the Engineering Directorate at the NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia. The role is responsible for performing IT systems support in engineering and laboratory environments. Primary Responsibilities End user support of Linux, Mac and Windows workstations. Installation and configuration of complex scientific software packages. Proactively monitor, analyze, and correct system issues. Resolving system security issues – including patching, risk analysis and security plans. Assist with monitoring and management of storage systems. Linux and Windows server administration. End user support in tracking and resolving issues via ticketing system. Develop and maintain system documentation. Basic Qualifications Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance. Advanced system administration experience with exposure to Linux, Mac & Windows. Scripting and command line experience Self directed – proven ability to work, and satisfy customer needs, with minimal day to day direction. Ability to work well in a team environment and also independently. Ability and willingness to communicate tasks and concepts to others. Strong communication and customer relations skills. Understanding of IT security best practices. Understanding of storage systems including SAN, NAS and concepts like RAID, NFS and LUNs Understanding of basic networking concepts. Bachelor's degree and 4 years of prior relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications Existing Public Trust clearance Support of research computing operations environment Enterprise Virtualizations such as VMware ESXi / vCenter Hybrid cloud implementation and cloud migration Kubernetes implementation & security configuration Ansible playbook development in a collaborative environment using Git or Gitlab repos Red Hat Certifications: (e.g., Red Hat Certified System Administrator - RHCSA, Red Hat Certified Engineer - RHCE) Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) CompTIA Security+ Server+ Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator AWS Certifications: (e.g., Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator) Clearance NASA Public Trust Desired Certifications / Training None are required, the following are examples of some that would be highly regarded: Red Hat Certifications: (e.g., Red Hat Certified System Administrator - RHCSA, Red Hat Certified Engineer - RHCE) Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) CompTIA Security+ Server+ Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator AWS Certifications: (e.g., Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator) Potential for Telework Some Telework is permitted but will have a significant onsite presence at NASA Langley Research Center. #J-18808-Ljbffr EMCO Technologies
