Project Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION: Project Manager PURPOSE: This leadership role will closely oversee and lead multiple construction projects. This will include partnering with other Rohde management, project managers, accounting team members, estimators, engineers, field staff, subcontractors, suppliers, owners, and architects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide construction project management for assigned projects to include: Proactively manages field execution and strictly enforces project budgets and timelines including but not limited to set up, track and maintain project financial status, resource loading, backlog, and billing for all projects. Schedule of values developments and billing. Develop and control project schedules to ensure work is completed on time including but not limited to developing a construction plan, creating a project timeline and ensuring project is completed within or under budget. Oversee procurement, planning, submittals, and subcontractors. Work with Project Assistant to schedule and lead project gate meetings. Manage all aspects of the assigned projects, ensuring superintendents, field foremen, and subcontractors are held accountable for successful completion of their scopes of work. Acts as a liaison between company, subcontractors, customers, and vendors to convey a positive company and professional image. Proactively aid in identifying areas for pre-fabrication and work with field staff, Project Engineers and Designers to create fabrication and installation drawings. Partner with Site Foremen to solve construction issues as they rise on the site. Work with Planning Manager to develop schedule for site coverage and accurate manning plans. Assist the estimators with general trades and excavating estimates for water and wastewater projects. Identify excavating contractors to partner with for water and wastewater treatment plant work in different parts of the state. Identify general trades contractors (e.g., concrete, block, doors, carpentry) to partner with for water and wastewater treatment plant work in different parts of the state. Participate in trade association and other networking activities. Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Environmental/Sanitary Engineering, or Chemical Engineering or a minimum of 10 years of progressive field experience as a superintendent, project engineer, or project manager. 10 or more years of progressive project management experience, specifically focusing on water, wastewater, or large municipal utility infrastructure projects. Technical & Core Competencies Understanding of water treatment processes, filtration, industrial automation, and equipment installation. Ability to coordinate structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and geotechnical elements of plant construction. Familiarity with local, state, and federal environmental standards and building codes. Proficiency in cost estimation, margin protection, and budget forecasting. Adept at critical path scheduling and use of scheduling and construction management software (e.g., MS Project, BlueBeam Revu, Primavera, ProCore). Experience directing field activities, negotiating with subcontractors, working with architectural/engineering firms, managing municipal clients, and coordinating with regulatory authorities. Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification is desirable. Physical Requirements: Travel to customer locations. Stand or walk for long periods of time during the regular workday; use arms and hands to reach for, handle and manipulate objects; lift and carry materials weighing 5 to 50 pounds. Perform assigned tasks under all types of environmental and weather conditions including severe cold, extreme heat, wet or dry weather and high winds. Environmental conditions may include areas where toxic or caustics chemicals or fumes are in use or being stored. Works in an office environment using computer and other office equipment.
