Senior Scientist

What you´ll do

• Lead development of innovative hair care products with minimal supervision, serving as a technical expert for assigned brands
• Drive end-to-end product development from concept through commercialization in partnership with Marketing, Sales, and Supply Chain. 
• Apply latest formulation technologies, raw materials, and testing methods to improve product performance and speed to market
• Present technical data and project updates; support regulatory, claims, and patent activities through robust documentation
• Provide manufacturing and quality support, including trials and analytical testing
• Mentor junior scientists and promote modern, efficient ways of working
• Leverage digital tools, data systems, and predictive approaches to improve formulation efficiency and reduce development cycles

What makes you a good fit

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in chemistry, biology, engineering or related field with 2+ years’ experience
• Experience in the development of hair care and/or skin care products is preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in standard computer and data‑handling tools
• Demonstrated ability to deliver clear, effective presentations and maintain strong organization and interpersonal effectiveness
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment
• Solid problem‑solving and decision‑making skills, with a practical, solution‑oriented approach
• Demonstrated teamwork and leadership capabilities, with the ability to collaborate across functions
• Ability to travel 15% of the time

Henkel’s R&D labs are planned to relocate to Trumbull in the latter half of 2027. Accordingly, this position will relocate with the team and will be based on-site at our Trumbull R&D Center once the move is complete. Relocation benefits will not be provided as a result of this move.

The salary range for this role is $90,000.00 and $98,000.00. This range represents the good‑faith minimum and maximum wages the Company reasonably expects to offer for this role at the time of posting. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for incentive pay or other forms of compensation, as applicable.  The Company also offers a comprehensive benefits package as described above. Actual compensation will be based on factors such as the candidate’s skills, experience, education, training, and work location.
