Truck Body TechnicianWallwork Truck Center is currently hiring for Truck Body Technicians to join our team. Typical scheduled hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Pay $18-$34/hr. DOE.The responsibilities for the Truck Body Technician are to repair and/or replace damaged truck parts and components; trucks will be repaired in accordance with factory and dealerships specifications using hand and power tools; to adhere to company-wide safety standards, work well within a team, and maintain regular attendance.Wallwork Truck Center's Body Shop is committed to having customer trucks look like they just rolled off the lot, brand new. If you are interested in working for a successful company and a great working environment, this is the place for you!This role requires an H.S. diploma or equivalent; completion of mechanical trade school is preferred, or a minimum of three years of mechanical experience. A valid Class C driver's license is preferred; ASE certification and knowledge of truck body repair are preferred; ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle report required.Qualifications (minimum requirements):Associates degree from a mechanical trade school or in process of completion of degree.Preferred/Required Skills and Abilities:Technical understandingStrong attention to detailStrong work ethicExcellent verbal and written communication skillsSupervision of others/decision making aptitude (if applicable):No supervisory responsibilities required with this position.Essential Functions and Accountabilities:Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems.Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window-and-seat-operating equipment, and trim to gain access to vehicle body and fenders.Bolt or weld replacement parts in position, using wrenches or welding equipment.File, grind and sand repaired surfaces.Repair or replace defective mechanical parts.Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.Contains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.Enhances maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.Some overnight travel may be required as needed.
