Fleet Maintenance Technician

Job Title

This position works under general supervision and is primarily responsible for the maintenance and repair of turf, off-road, construction, and other light- to medium-duty equipment.

Technicians work on engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, drivetrains, brakes, attachments, small engines, and some fabrication-related repairs. Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training

• Associate's degree, 2 years technical/trade school or equivalent military training
• 4 years of experience in an automobile, heavy truck or equipment maintenance/repair organization
• or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Licensing And Other Requirements

• In this position, you will work with your supervisor to obtain the licenses and certifications while on probation, typically 6 months. If needed, your probationary period will be extended by three months to allow you the time needed to successfully obtain the following licenses and certifications: Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brake, tank and passenger endorsement; Mobile Air Conditioning Society (MACS) license for A/C recovery, recycling and recharge; and/or Ada County Air Quality Board emission testing license.
• Valid state-issued driver's license.

• This position is required to operate, maintain or inspect emergency vehicles, heavy equipment, or vehicles having a gross combination weight rating of 26,001 or more pounds and/or life saving equipment used for emergency services.
