Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients on-site.

• Monitor maternal and fetal status, recognize emergencies, and initiate interventions.

• Maintain accurate, timely medical documentation in electronic health records.

• Administer medications and document administration per protocol and policy.

• Collaborate with obstetric team to develop and update care plans.

• Lead or participate in care coordination and handoffs during shift changes.

• Uphold infection control standards and ensure a safe clinical environment.

• Utilize performance metrics and pipelines to optimize patient flow and outcomes.

• Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, and postnatal care.

• Mentor junior staff and contribute to ongoing professional development.

• Engage in continuous learning to advance clinical skills and specialty knowledge.

Experience/Qualifications

• Current RN license with obstetric/neonatal nursing certification (e.g., CNOR) expected.

• Active RN in labor and delivery with at least 2 years’ experience.

• Proficiency in fetal monitoring and interpretation, emergency response protocols.

• Ability to document accurately in electronic health records and maintain chart integrity.

• Strong collaboration with obstetric team and participation in care planning.

• Commitment to infection control and patient safety in a high-acuity setting.

• Demonstrated leadership in handoffs, care coordination, and patient flow optimization.

• Ability to educate patients and families on labor, delivery, and postnatal care.

• Data-driven mindset with experience using performance metrics and pipelines.

• Mentorship and contribution to ongoing professional development of staff.

• Flexibility to adapt in a growth-oriented, target-driven environment.

• On-site availability with capacity for shift-based coverage and overtime as needed.
