Assistant Logistics Manager

The company is seeking a motivated and dependable Assistant Logistics Manager to support its equipment, fleet, yard, and field operations in the Washington, DC area. The Assistant Logistics Manager will help oversee the company's equipment and vehicle operations, including supervising mechanics and yard personnel, coordinating daily work schedules, dispatching road calls and equipment moves, and ensuring company-owned equipment is properly maintained and available for projects. The position will also be responsible for conducting regular job-site and equipment inventories, tracking company vehicles and equipment, monitoring repairs and service needs, investigating damaged equipment, and helping ensure operators are using equipment properly. This is a highly visible role that requires someone who can stay organized while managing multiple priorities across the field, yard, and office.

Additional responsibilities include helping oversee the company's Hyattsville-area yard and supporting the maintenance and organization of company facilities, equipment, tools, parts, fluids, and supplies. The Assistant Logistics Manager will work to ensure that mechanics remain productive, equipment maintenance is scheduled appropriately, inventory discrepancies are investigated, service and maintenance records are accurate, and company facilities remain clean and professional. The successful candidate should be comfortable holding team members accountable, communicating with field personnel and management, identifying problems before they become larger issues, and taking ownership of day-to-day operational needs.

The company is particularly interested in young, motivated military candidates who are ready to take the leadership, discipline, mechanical aptitude, and organizational skills developed during their service and apply them in a civilian operations career. Candidates should be self-motivated, comfortable working around heavy equipment and active job sites, and capable of balancing personnel supervision, equipment readiness, inventory control, and facility responsibilities.
