Join to apply for the Clinical Unit Supervisor-MST role at Mission Community Hospital Position Summary This position will primarily work with acutely ill Medical-Surgical, Telemetry-monitored, Orthopedic, and Neurological patient populations. The Clinical Unit Supervisor demonstrates a high level of commitment to patient care, supervises nursing and non-licensed personnel, and communicates effectively with the healthcare team. Responsibilities include making patient care assignments, participating in quality improvement, and ensuring staff adherence to policies. Major Responsibilities Patient Care – 50% Supervise and perform patient assessments, monitor diagnostic data, administer medications, and coordinate care according to policies and physician orders. Ensure safe use of equipment, recognize patient problems, and respond to life-threatening situations. Document care accurately and communicate effectively with team members. Develops, Implements, and Evaluates a Nursing Plan of Care – 10% Identify patient needs, involve family, and revise care plans based on patient response. Patient and Family Education – 10% Assess learning needs, formulate teaching plans, and evaluate effectiveness. Customer Service – 15% Demonstrate ethical decision-making, professionalism, and proactive service recovery. Leadership – 10% Communicate rationale for interventions, facilitate resource utilization, and promote team collaboration. Other – 5% Maintain a clean work environment, adhere to policies, and participate in quality improvement activities. Qualifications Minimum 1 year acute care RN experience on an assigned unit. Current RN license issued by the California State Board of Nursing. Basic Arrhythmia, ACLS, BLS certifications, and FIRE Card required. Ability to communicate effectively in English and basic computer skills.
