Reno Staffing is looking for a quality control and food safety assistant for an organic tea manufacturer in the Sparks, NV area!

This is a family friendly, women owned company hiring on candidates after 90-days. offering 12-Paid Holidays after hire and providing coverage for Medical, Vision and Dental. 

Shift:  Monday-Friday 6:00am-2:30pm 
Pay: $16+ Depending on experience  
Location: Sparks, NV 89431

Summary:    Support the Quality Control Department in main task involving Food Safety and Quality Control.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Other duties may be assigned.

• Pre-Op/Post Op:
  • Verifying and validating sanitation of all machines and work areas.
  • Verifying that all documentation to all logs are complete. 
• Conduct quality checks (walk thru) in the production area. 
  • Start Up
  • Quality Control Production Run (Every Hour)
  • Change Over/After Production Run
    • Document all non-conforming results and all corrective actions.
    • Notify all non-conforming results to Food Safety & Quality Control Manager.
• Monitor compliance of all logs in the production area, and initial.
  • Verify and approve product release.
  • Sanitation and sanitation log in compliance
• Verification/Validation of the Operator 1 and 2 checklists
  • Validating Operator 1 and 2 sanitation duties are in compliance during end of shift sanitation.
  • Finished Goods Retain Sample: 
    • Sample to be collected by QC Tech, in event the QC tech is not present that day the QC Assistant will collect the samples. Samples to be given to QC Assistant.
    • Validations:
      • Do validation of allergens cleaning/sanitation with Aller snap swabs, and keep the records up to date.
      • Do validation of conventional cleaning/sanitation teas with Pro-Clean swabs, and keep the records up to date.
      • Document results in logs and initial.
    • Conduct GMP, HACCP, OSHA, and Davidson’s Policies verifications:
      1. Monitoring Production to be in compliance with all procedures and policies.
         • Assist and monitor monthly and quarterly sanitation.
         • Discuss all out of compliance issues with Food Safety and QC Manager to find a solution.
         • May have to perform special non-routine task associated with projects and test.
• All production work utensils, work area, and tables were cleaned and sanitized
• Sticker dispenser were wiped down
• Floor mats were swept top/bottom (Cleaned and sanitized weekly)
• Floor was swept and dry moped
• All designated trash cans were emptied.
• Previous shift left all glue bottles full
• All raw material, packaging, and finished goods from previous shift was sealed, tagged, and returned to the designated staging area
• Inspect machine that all food contact parts are clean/sanitized and is in working condition
• All machine operators on all Maisa machines have completed their Pre-op logs
• All Machine operators have verified all materials according to their production log.
• Daily Sanitation and Post -Op has been completed and documented in the log binder.
• Ensure that the machine and the work area are in compliance and ready for the next shift.
• All logs have been completed and initialed
