Full-Time Assistant Manager

Role Summary The Cinemark Assistant Manager assists in the overall operation of the theatre, ensuring policies and procedures are followed and operational standards are achieved. The role involves cross‑training in all departments to provide instructional support and inspirational training to all employees. The Assistant Manager can advance to Senior Assistant Manager and ultimately to Theatre Manager or General Manager after completing the Management Accreditation Program and a minimum of six months of service. Responsibilities Follows the direction of the General Manager. Supports General Manager’s decisions in communication with the staff. Works in all departments and all theatre job functions. Trains and coaches Team Members in their specific job functions. Assists in the preparation of administrative and special reports for the General Manager. Observes and participates in the inspection of the theatre building, parking lot, landscaping, Cinemark property, roof and exterior signage, and equipment conditions. Reports the need for building, property, and equipment repairs to the General Manager. Ensures that theatre Team Members follow the dress code. Interacts with guests to improve service in the theatre and ensures that Team Members provide superior customer service. Learns and follows the policies and procedures established in Cinemark’s Guidelines and enforces these fairly and consistently with all Team Members. Reports all employee‑relations issues to the General Manager. In the absence of the GM, management reports employee‑relations issues to and follows the Employee Relations Reporting Protocol. Maintains a high work‑ethic standard and code of conduct. Identifies and sanitizes high‑contact areas for employees and guests. Properly utilizes personal protective equipment while completing position‑specific tasks. Adapts to the frequency and scope of required cleaning tasks. Addresses safety or security issues such as trip hazards, lighting problems, and suspicious persons. Performs other work‑related duties as assigned. Requirements Must be at least 18 years of age. High School or G.E.D. graduate preferred. Completion of three basic courses (Management Foundations, Annual Certifications, and MAP Core) within Cinemark’s Management Accreditation Program. Completion of basic food‑handling training and any required local or state certification, health card, or food handlers permit. Safe Alcohol Service training required for those who work with alcohol. Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Requires regular and consistent attendance. Energetic and friendly attitude during each shift. Excellent guest service and accurate cash handling with basic math skills. Interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate verbally and written with all ages, genders, and personalities, and to converse in and comprehend English. Ability to work in a team environment independently. Ability to take and follow direction. Sense of urgency. Excellent time‑management, organizational skills, and attention to detail. Ability to train and lead others. Conflict resolution skills. Physical & Environmental Requirements Frequent bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Frequent standing, walking, and reaching around the theatre. Moderate to high noise level at times. Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
