Job OverviewWe are seeking a high-energy Senior Publicist who thrives on the “win” of a Tier-1 placement. This position is designed for a media strategist who loves to pitch, and knows the right placements will enhance and elevate TerraCycle’s reputation through executing public and media relations strategies. High-impact pitching and placements is the key to success in this role. Primary ResponsibilitiesActively pitch “A-list” media contacts to secure features, profiles, and trend storiesDevelop narratives to turn insights into story hooks that won’t be ignoredMonitor the 24-hour news cycle to insert TerraCycle into our breaking news and cultural moments (newsjacking)Write high-quality, informative and interesting press releases and media pitches, with a keen eye for detail and accuracyDevelop and foster relationships with key media and be able to coordinate interviews, manage deadlines, and develop talking points on behalf of TerraCycleSupport the development of award submissions on behalf of TerraCycle, continuing to build on its legacy as one of the most innovative companies in sustainabilityRequirementsMust be a team player and confident communicator; an “idea person”, able to drive compelling narratives/pitchesMust possess excellent written communication skills with a deep understanding of AP Style and writing in brand tone and styleStrong project management skills with ability to supervise multiple projectsProven track record designing and executing successful public relations campaigns at both a local and national levelStrong relationships with both local and national media outletsProactive, reliable, responsible and accurate with an attention to detail.Self-motivated with a positive and professional approachBachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, business, or related field is preferred5 years of experience in PR; agency experience preferredExcellent computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and PR tools (e.g., Cision, Muck Rack, or Meltwater)Compensation:Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, AD&D insurance available after 30 days401(k) plan with company match available after 30 days22 PTO + 2 VTO + 9 paid holidays per yearHybrid work scheduleYear-round Flex FridaysCatered vegetarian lunch available in the office M-FCasual office environmentTerraCycle is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to Diversity, Equality and Inclusion.Note: International candidates must be eligible to work in their country of employment.
