CDL Yard Spotter

DriverThe Driver is responsible for local vehicle operations involving positioning, loading/unloading, and moving trucks and trailers on and between farms. This role requires a valid Driver's License and involves operating vehicles that may transport hazardous materials or up to 15 passengers. The position may include operating Material Handling Equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining high safety standards.Essential Job FunctionsOperate company-owned and leased trucksLoad, unload, and/or relocate trailers, materials, parts, and/or other cargoProvide courteous customer service during delivery and pickup operations and follow-up communications, as neededPerform required vehicle maintenance checks, pre-trip inspections, and provide necessary reportsMaintain all required certifications for DOT, OSHA, and company safety programsCommunicate any issues or deficiencies to the appropriate departmentPerform any other tasks assigned to support and improve overall farm operationsMay transport hazardous materials or up to 15 passengers when requiredOther duties as assignedRequired QualificationsValid driver's license with a clean driving recordCDL and appropriate endorsements required if operating larger vehicles2+ years of experience operating a vehicleAppropriate endorsements for hazardous materials (if applicable)Ability to operate and maintain equipment safelyWillingness to learn and safely operate all company Material Handling EquipmentAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basisWillingness to work in various weather conditions, both hot and coldAbility to work overtime, weekends and holiday hours as required based on production demandPreferred QualificationsExperience in agricultural or food industry logisticsFamiliarity with farm operationsBasic mechanical knowledge for vehicle maintenanceWork EnvironmentThis position involves prolonged periods of sitting, driving, and operating Material Handling Equipment. The work is primarily outdoors and requires the ability to work in severe weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold. Regular local travel between farms and occasional deliveries to other local locations is expected. The role may involve transporting hazardous materials or up to 15 passengers, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols and DOT regulations. Drivers must notify the employer of all moving traffic and DOT violations within 24 hours of their occurrence.
