Step into a meaningful role supporting students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in the Groveport, OH area. This contract position offers full-time hours for the entire school year, providing an excellent opportunity to make a lasting impact in education while developing your professional skills.
Key Qualifications:
- Certification in teaching students with visual impairments or eligibility for appropriate state credentials
- Experience creating and adapting instructional materials for visually impaired students
- Familiarity with Braille, assistive technology, and specialized learning tools
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
- Ability to deliver both direct and consultative services based on individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to students with visual impairments, tailoring strategies to individual needs
- Assess student abilities and track progress, maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Collaborate with general education teachers to create inclusive classroom environments
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on goals and accommodations
- Offer support and training to staff and family members on best practices for working with visually impaired students
- Stay current with educational tools and resources appropriate for visually impaired learners
